Experience
Right outside your door
You don’t just stay in a holiday flat — you stay right in the middle of it. Around your door lies a whole living world: a family estate at the forest’s edge, grown over generations. A few doors you can step through, just as you like.
The whole estate
A living world around your flat
Since 1978 the Sommer family has lived here, and with them a whole world: horses that whinny in the morning, a riding estate, an event barn, a school project, the farm shop. You don’t have to join in with any of it — but if you’d like to, it’s all there, right outside the door.
Garden & park
A green yard to play and breathe
Between the two flats lies your shared garden, and through an old gateway in the wall the estate park opens up: a snug covered seat, the rabbit enclosure with Hocky, Mori and Wuschel, a football pitch and a trampoline. Children spend whole afternoons here — and the grown-ups find their spot in the green.
Pony riding
The first time on a pony
For many children the best part of the holiday: that first time on a pony — led, calm, with a helmet and someone right beside them. And for the older ones, a proper riding lesson at the right level. The riding school is right here on the estate: no driving, just walk across the yard.
Ostwind film location
You sleep at “Gut Kaltenbach”
Maybe the covered terrace looks familiar: Gut Waitzrodt was the fictional “Gut Kaltenbach” in all five Ostwind films. You stay at the real location — and whoever likes can come along on a relaxed walk to the spots where the cameras once rolled.
The farm shop
Everything good, straight from the land
Forgotten something? At the Lädchen there are fresh vegetables, milk, bread, eggs and the little wine for the evening — regional and from the land. You can even pre-order a supply box before you arrive, so the fridge is already filled when you walk in.
Experienced on site – part of Gut Waitzrodt, not the holiday flat.
